Quick update! Schoooool’s out for summer…

I got the results back for my current module yesterday afternoon! To my surprise I scored a pretty high pass, considering the term I’ve had I thought it was gonna just scrape by the pass mark. I got some really encouraging words from the tutors too. I thought I might’ve fell at the last hurdle this year dealing with one of the most difficult briefs/”clients” in a looong time. It really threw my motivation off for a little while but I managed to pull it round to what seems to be a satisfactory level. It’s good to know people still think I’m on the rise, even when I’ve felt pretty low! Really need to find some more confidence in myself and my work ASAP.

My business cards arrived by the way! Here’s a quick photo of them. I’m gonna upload some more images of them to my website so check back soon if you can (I’ll copy a link in). They’re simple black and white, and hopefully effective, as I’d spent countless hours trying to overcomplicate things before realising less really is more. They’re triplexed, 2 white sheets of card sandwiched around one black sheet to give it a nice black line down the sides. I also bought a batch of stickers for when I’m sealing up my prints etc. so hopefully from now on they’ll look a lot more personalised.

Pretty busy right now finishing up a few projects. The clothing line is still ongoing, I’ve got a few new ideas to discuss with the client this month and I’ve been working on a centrefold spread for a magazine in London which has been pretty fun. Quite excited to be able to hand over my card now when people ask for my details – it feels a lot more legit. Got a few meetings coming up in London at the end of the month so fingers crossed they go well and I’ll check in again soon.

Whichever way my summer turns out, my focus is to stay creative as much as possible.
