Hello Geordieland!
So I got back home last night to the North East after an absolutely unreal couple of months in London. It’s been fantastic. I got some excellent experience interning at some graphic design studios and met so many wonderful people. It’s sad that it’s all come to an end but I could definitely do with a bit of a break before starting final year at university.
I didn’t take even half as many photos as I thought I might do but I found myself just soaking everything up in realtime without really wanting to grab the camera! The atmosphere down there has been incredible throughout the Olympics and Paralympics and I’m glad to say I attended the men’s wheelchair basketball this month – bloody brilliant!
I’m definitely feeling more confident in myself right now and hoping it lasts. It’s been really beneficial having worked on some live projects too, I feel like this might take off the pressure a little bit of getting into the swing of things upon the first briefings at university next month.
I’ve got just over a week at home with the family now and am feeling really restless still, need to actually put this feeling of needing to do something into action, before I become lazy. Got some ideas on my dissertation whilst in London too. Hoping I can pull this one off, can’t say I’m very excited about the prospects of writing this thing but hopefully I can get some research down and start writing before it becomes too stressful of a thought!
London I hope to see you soon! I’ve had such an adventure, weekends in Shepherd’s Bush, the Southbank, Camden Town, Shoreditch, Spitalfields, Paralympics, Covent Garden, North Greenwich… The list goes on, this year has definitely been one of the best in a long time. If it ends in December as some of you believe it will then at least I’ve lived a good final year!
Caio for now!
PS. Here’s a shot from today of the Red Arrows flying over my house during the Great North Run!

That was so interesting, looks like you’ve had a grand time and that it has been the making of you. Done and learnt a lot I’m so thrilled for you.
Ah thank you, I think it’s been a huge confidence boost but I’m not sure how long that’ll last when the stress of third year kicks in!
My cousin suggested I might like your blog. It’s an interesting read on a subject close to my hobbies. Thanks, do continue – love the pictures!
Thank you Kate, do I know your cousin? I’ve not managed to post in a while but hopefully I can keep it fairly consistent!
You don’t know each other (as far as I know), he just likes to recommend blogs for me to read about design and travel and stuff like that.
Sounds like you’ve had a great time, how many internships did you do?
Thank you! I really have. I did 2 internships but I also did some volunteering at charity towers in London before that.
sounds like you had a fab time! Am pleased to have been part of it.
